This winter HTC company is going to release a mobile phone based on the Android operating system. Observers contend that the company is due to release 2 or 3 handsets based on the system. As you know, Android platform is a software stack for mobile devices including an operating system, middleware and key applications. HTC is also buoyed by its performance, including the successful launch of its Touch Diamond mobile phone. HTC's CFO, Hui-ming Cheng, said: “HTC revenues are expected to grow 10% sequentially and 30% on year in the third quarter, buoyed by the planned launch of CDMA, GSM and sliding form-factor HTC Touch Diamond handsets.”He also added: “HTC has shipped Touch Diamond handsets to 50 telecom operators in more than 30 countries so far.”
HTC CEO Peter Chou also said that HTC will introduce a more advanced user interface than its current TouchFlo next year and will launch WiMAX devices by the end of 2008.
